I'm an Iranian documentary photographer and journalism senior lecturer at University Putra Malaysia. I worked for newspapers in Iran before I moved to Malaysia in 2004 to continue my studies in PhD of Mass Communication. So far my photographs, multimedia, and video reportages have been published is numerous media and exhibited in several group exhibitions in Iran and overseas. My first photo book titled "A Given Path" was published in Malaysia in 2010 and has been selected as best 50 titles for international rights. My major interests in photography are women issues, interfaith dialogue and human rights.
Fathers and Daughters, 2014
This is a series of portraits from Iranian fathers and daughters from different classes of society. I was away from home when my father was struggling hard to overcome a serious sickness that sent him to coma for a while. It was a shocking moment for my family but it leads us to more profound relationship with him. In my first visit to Iran after several years living in Malaysia, I turn my camera to fathers and daughters in different families I visited. It was nice to see how diverse and beautiful is my society beyond all stereotyping by media...
